More Michigan

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is one of my hubbies favorite places. And was voted Most Beautiful Place in America in 2011. Check out pic of the park HERE. There is this very steep bluff there that has a warning sign telling you not to climb it and if you do and need rescued you will have to pay for it. Of course everyone goes down and climbs back up! Ever time we go he says he’s going to do it…next time we come! Well he did it this time with our 11 year old nephew. Took him about an hour and Sam did it twice to Dave’s once, not counting several trips down to Dave to give him sips of water and check on him! Oh to be young!

It’s always windy off the lake!

Take a short trip to the falls…

Lake Superior – record high temps this year! 67* when we were there!

There are tons of gorgeous rocks laying on the shores of Superior. Agate is one of the most common found here. We brought home a bag full of rocks between myself and my sister-in-law to put in our flowerbeds. I found one that looks exactly like a potato!

Here is a before and after picture of the really nice Petosky Stone my hubby found.

Isn’t it lovely! He’s in the process of polishing it.

  1. What a great place, those falls look fab – as does your hair! Like Dave, I do a lot of standing when I should be walking, I'm admiring the view of course! I just love those stones.

  2. Most of the trails my husband and I take warn hikers to climb at their own risk. Waterfalls were one of the few sights my husband and I missed seeing this summer when visiting my home province of Newfoundland. Aren't rocks fun to collect? Thanks for sharing all the sights!
