Like the British that brought and bought him, the African is an organic and indigenous part of Southern culture and it is high time that we all look at our shared history with a bit more honesty and calm, remembering it all, but choosing to reflect upon and celebrate that which has made the South like that bowl of chili that burns your mouth so, but that you cant stop eating.

Hi Peggy,
What a phenomenal video, it was captivating.
We are quite well known for murmurations, here in Somerset UK, but your example was awesome and well outstrips our Somerset examples by miles.
I love the word murmurations and it is quite spooky that you chose this as the subject to post about, as we have just been watching an episode of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', where one of the options to a question was 'A Murder' of crows.
I found this great list of collective nouns for birds and some of them are quite unbelievable, I thought you might be interested …

Thanks for showing the most impressive post of the day.

Yvonne, the video was taken on the Shannon River in Ireland it was not here in the states. I have never heard of such a thing before although we do have starlings here. Can you imagine having all those birds doing that over your head!!!! That video was posted on Tourism Ireland, I get updates from them on facebook. That is my dream destination someday!
Thanks for the link about bird words! that is really interesting. A murder of crows is so cool! Especially to me a huge mystery fan:)
And I think your trip in Switzerland beat my primitive roads by miles No pun intended:)
Thanks for stopping over! Off now to beat my husband at scrabble!
